"Who affirms that the money does everything, ends up doing everything by the money"
Voltaire

My name is Antonio Fraga Hernández and i’m 42 years old (by now ;). I was born in La Palma that is, if the progress do not change that, the most beautiful place in the world (ok, i was born there so, what did you expected i should say about? ;)

I studied Physics and Informatic Engineering and I develope my work as project manager for the Goverment of Canary Islands since 1991.

I suppose i must say that i was attracted by astronomy since i was a child. Admittedly, i remember that i wanted to make a telescope with a marble as objective and i even saw the moon with its craters! Clear that at that age, it did not matter that the craters were on the same objetive. Never got to have a telescope (neither good nor bad) but a binoculars Tento 20x60, although i liked more look to heaven with my own eyes.

Age, besides work and grey hair, also has its advantages and one of them is that sometimes we can think about buying something that we like without having to consult with others. This is not my case, but after consulting with my partner, Katja, I could buy my first telescope: A Vixen VISAC mounted on an GPD2 with Skysensor 2000PC and a Atik2HS, a web-camera modified for long exposure. Sounds good, right?

A VISAC telescope is perhaps too good for a beginner and certainly much better than my old Russians binoculars or that my first "marble telescope" But i am very happy with it and since we bought it, i've learned many things that before i would never have raised.

Overcoming the technical difficulties that arise in this hobby motivates me to continue and each progress is a joy though, sometimes miss that sense of mysterious illusion that a child looks at the sky through its marble.

I'd like to dedicate my work to all the children in the world. Unfortunately, not every children will have the opportunity to decide whether astronomy or any other area of human knowledge, will be interesting for them.
